On the Road

I got up early to do a morning run, and was glad I did. I never like starting a run. It feels awkward to me, and it takes me a while to get into a groove. This morning's run was no different.

I felt like I was getting into a good pace about 3/4 of a mile into the run. I was focusing on pushing off more with my legs. I always forget about my legs, and think I need to run with my feet. For me, the power is in my legs. I began to pick up my pace.

I was feeling relly good at the half way point. I stopped for my drink, did some stretches, and got ready to head home. I was doing fine until the 4 mile mark. I just stopped. I tried to run another block, but it just wasn't there.

Usually this would bother me. Today it didn't. I was just glad to be back running. A 4 mile run is better than anything I did last week. :-)

Tomorrow is a training session with Josh. I will most likely run 2 miles.

Maybe that's the best gift of the week off -- you really appreciate anything you can do now! Way to go, Charlie. :)
