Runing to 15 Miles....Part 2

I ran my 5 mile route, which I keep thinking may really be 4.8 miles, but let's round up shall we? I ran the route in 47:03:77! That's a good clip.

I have to confess I did not feel good running. It had more to do with getting used to being outdoors again, as opposed to the treadmill. My footing seemed off, and I never felt like I was in my groove. I assume more outdoor running will take care of that.

After the run I have some buckwheat pancakes - 2, and a couple links of sausage. It was a nice after run meal for me. Tonight is turkey burger night! Woo Hoo!

So for the week, I am at 6.72 miles. Tomorrow is a gym workout day. Friday is my training session with Josh. So the running will be indoors over the next two days. Saturday I am aiming to run outside again.

Overall I'm feeling good. Friday I will weigh myself and see where I stand.

Treadmill running and road running really are different. I'm not suprised it didn't feel quite right but I bet you're right that once you get back into running outside, it'll come to you.

I find the treadmill the easiest run (although your hill program may change my mind on that!), followed by a track, followed by road/sidewalk/outdoor running.

They're all a little different.

By the way, that means you're running about or just under a 10-min-mile. I dream of the day I can comfortably run that fast. If we went running, I couldn't keep up with you.

Not bad for the guy who just started walking a year ago! You may just discover that you've actually had a competitive athlete in you all these years, hiding behind that glib witty coffee-luvin', market-crushing exterior.

Well I realize it could mean an under 10 minute mile, but I am not 100% sure I am going 5 miles. I am 90% sure.

My method of determining the distance I cycle is to bring up Yahoo maps, put my starting point and finishing point in, and ask for directions. Along with the map and instructions, Yahoo gives me the distance involved.

What I would *really* like is a site that allows me to get a map (with distance) from point A to point C VIA point B, as the route I travel isn't necessarily the shortest route - more likely the route with the fewest hills.
