Anniversary Run

Since we still have air alerts going on in Chicago, I am still running inside. Today I ran 2.5 miles in 29:53. Not bad. I mixed up my runs between the hill program and a 1.0 incline. It was a tough run. I find all the runs getting a little harder. Most likely it is because I am upping hte speed on the treadmill. I remember when 4.8 was fast. Now, it's an easy clip for me. Hehehe.

I did more stretching before running today. I use a yoga strap to help with the stretching. It works very well. I bought one so I can do the stretches at home as well.

So overall it was a good anniversary run. I felt relaxed and ran well. After my run I had some yogurt and fruit. A tasty way to relax after a run.

I ran outside on Wednesday. Still hot and humid. Not a great run. And it was mostly all downhill! You are right to run inside.

Charlie, when you say "yoga strap", do you mean that thing that's like a rubbery scarf? Is there a specific set of stretches you do? Do you have a good one to deal with Hamstrings of Stone?

Hi Sandra,

The strap I use is a fabric strap, which loops at the end. I put my foot in the loop, and am able to pull my leg. I gently pull my leg until I have a nice stretch, and I hold it for about a minute on each foot.

I also do this with my leg going to the side. I got the strap at www.huggermugger.com Take a look and see their products.
