Working Away

Today was a workout day. I did my ActivTrax workout, plus some additional exercises Josh has me doing. I do circuit training. For those who don't know, there are a series of apparatus that you work on, and you go from one to another fairly quickly. So I may do 15 reps on the arm curl, then quickly head over to the leg press. What I do now is after an apparatus, I do one of the exercises Josh has written out for me. Today I did an incline bench press. I have 35 lbs weights, and I am lying at an incline on a bench, and pushing the weights up. I do 15 reps of them.

After the workout, I ran 2 miles. I pushed myself, to do the two, but it felt good when I was done. I even got a good compliment from the manager of the gym.

Before work I stopped at a juice type bar in the mall where I work. I got the "Shopper's Energy Drink. " It has banana, strawberry, non-fat yogurt, and protein mix in it. I have to say it was very tasty. It gave me some good energy to start the work day.

During lunch break I discovered a tea cafe nearby, so I tried a chai for the first time. I wouldn't want it every day, but it was nice. They had food from a local health food diner for sale there, so I got a slice of quiche which hit the sport.

So today was a really good day.

How are other folks exercise programs going?

:-)Charlie

As you and I spoke off line, mine is not good this week. Finally got an overdue pelvis adjustment at the chiropractor yesterday. The muscles that have been doing yeoman's duty while my pelvis have been out of alignment registered a major protest.

So I'm taking it easy and icing those muscles and no running till Thursday. Plus, I'm skipping my strength training today because there's a lot of leg exercises that would irritate my pelvis muscles.

PLUS I'm not sleeping well. So, I'm wide awake in the middle of the night and dead on my feet in the middle of the day.

It's a tough week. It will get better.

What's with this insomnia? I decided at 4AM today that I might as well be grateful for a chance to see a "Judging Amy" episode I'd missed, as sleeping seemed to be out of the question.

Some time ago, I decided that the old saying "You require less sleep as you get older" was nonsense. You just get less sleep as you get older.

I'm working slowly back into my routine, after my disastrous attempt at kayaking on Sunday.

You're right, documama. This will get better. Soon. See how well Charlie bounced back from last week's doldrums?
