2006 Shamrock Shuffle

The 2006 Shamrock Shuffle 8K is history. As you know I ran with my friend Documama, from D.C. It was a good run. We paced ourselves pretty well. My finish time was 1:05:25(Official chip time). Documama ran a few seconds behind.

We ran the race together, and were able to keep from running ourselves ragged. The tough part came in the last mile. Part of the last mile was uphill...and quite a hill at that. The last 200m, I went fairly fast. I got some energy somewhere, and just burst ahead.

This was Documama's first time running an 8K, and she did very well. Congrats to her on a successful race.

I was a little worried about this race, as I had a bad stomach bug this week, and was worried on Friday that I might not be able to run. I felt fine for the run though.

I was just glad Documama made it. Sounds like American Airlines really screwed her up on flights. Still she made it, and we had a great time during the run.

Next race - Sunburst Marathon June 3 - South Bend, IN.

This week is a long run week. I'll attempt 18 miles.

We had a great time together and I really appreciated having a running partner for this run. I would have quit without Charlie there.

The last 1.5 mile were something of a slog for me. I know I slowed Charlie down a bit but he stuck with me because he's just that kinda guy. :)

I'm so glad he invited me to do this. It was a good time and a good run for me.

And I'm hardly sore at all, which is really amazing!

Now, we just have convince Charlie to post the pictures.... ;)
