Sunny and 8 MIles
Today was my long run of 8 miles. It was sunny and a bit breezy for the run. I put on the new shoes and strap the water bottle on, and off I went. It was in the low 70's during my run. The run/walk combination is turning to be a blessing. When I felt a twinge in my legs, I found the walking worked it out, and I was able to run better.
People were certainly friendly, and always saying hello as I went by.
The return trip was nicer than the first half. Some clouds would block the sun, which helped me quite a bit.
For those interested, I am on Marco Island, and ran from my folks home, to the northern part of the island, which is 4.05 miles. So overall I ran 8.1 miles in 1:36. Good time.
It was good to be off the treadmill, and actually going somewhere. The problem with the treadmill is that you are just running in place. Plus it felt good to have the sun on me.
Today was also a weight check day. It had been over a couple of weeks. As you know I don't check daily or weekly. I feel the best results are when you give yourself two weeks. Today I weighed 201 lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is incredible. Getting close to 199.
So there you have it. A very successful run.
