2006 and I Am Still Running!!!
Hello!
Sorry it has been so long between posts. I will do better at blogging, I promise.
Anyway, 2005 is gone(thank goodness), and 2006 is here. So how did I end the year? Weight wise I ended the year at 208 lbs! I lost 41 lbs in 2005. That's something. So the overall total since Summer, 2003 is 92 lbs. I did touch 95 lbs at one point, still I am happy where I am.
You may ask how the running is going. Go ahead....ask.....
The running and weight training is back on schedule. I was half-hearted in my attempts in November and December, but I am embracing January as time to start fresh.
I am registered for three races this year:
LaSalle Bank Shamrock Shuffle 8K - April 2 - http://www.shamrockshuffle.com/
Of course there are the Gay Games July 15-22. I will run the 5K and 10K races.
My big news though is ...drum roll... I am running my first marathon! Yes, you read it correctly, I am going to go for it. I am entered in the 2006 Sunburst Marathon, in my hometown of South Bend, Indiana. The race is June 3. There are several reasons I chose this race. One big one is I can finish(and I will finish) the race IN Notre Dame Stadium. Anyone who knows me, knows of my love for Notre Dame.

So I have a full running schedule ahead of me, and I am reading up on how to train for a marathon. If anyone would like to join me in one of the races, come on along. If you would like to come out and cheer me on, I would love it.
As time goes on I will share my training and education during this process.
One other thing...
I have just finished a really good book called "Ultramarathon Man."

I have no desire to run 229 miles straight, but this guy is sure an inspiration.
Ok...the Road to Chicago is now kicking into high gear!
