Massage is Important

My good friends Documama and George are shouting HOORAY! as I post this, I'm sure. Today I had a free massage. You have to include massage as part of your training. Lord KNOWS the pounding you put your body through while you run and train. Be good to your body, and it will be good to you.

I feel ready for tomorrow's long run(7 miles). I got new shoes(Asics) today, though I won't wear them on this long run. I will start running with them this coming week.

The guy at Fleet Feet was very nice to answer my marathon questions about gels, shoes, and running. If there is a Fleet feet in your area, they are a terrific resource. Use them.

Wednesday I am off to Florida to visit my family. I'll be running around Marco Island. Hmmmm....maybe I can get my sister to tag along??? :-)

HOORAY! :)

Just checking back in. I only today realized you were posting again. I'm delighted to see it.

I plan to join you for the 8K. No freakin' way am I doing a marathon. I need to work out a training plan for the 8K...soon!

I've known a lot of people who have used the walk/run approach to marathon training and it really works.

But, back to my beginning thought, HOORAY for the massage! It's a fantastic asset to a major training program. I'm going to start working with a competitive cyclist soon and I'm looking foward to being part of her training regimen.

I'm also taking an advanced training course in stretching in 2 weeks so I'll be better prepared to check your stretching progress and help you loosen up when I get to Chicago in April.
