Training With Josh
Today was my workout day with my trainer Josh. Since the chances are good that Josh will read this at some point, let me say he is a really great guy. Ok...the pleasantries are out of the way. Now I can tell you what fitness Nazi he really is....LOL. Just kidding.
His main goal today was to have me do my typical ActivTrax workout, and then supplement some activities to improve my workout. I did some lateral work on the stairs. I worked with a medicine ball. I also did some things on the stability ball. Now to me that is a misnomer. Stable? On a ball? Well evidently it is possible. The darn thing just makes me wonder if it will roll out from under me. Josh assures me I will be fine with it. For now I'll take his word for it.
He did make a suggestion about running on the treadmill. There is a hill option, where I can run a hill-like "course." I tried it. It was a pretty tough workout, but I did pretty well. I ran 1.62 miles in 20 minutes. Not bad.
I will try the personal training with Josh, and see how it works. I won't do it as often as my friend Mitch(every week), but I think a couple times a month will help.
So today was a weigh in day. I have an official weigh every couple of weeks. When last I weighed myself I was at 218. Today....drum roll....216lbs! Yup, another 2 lbs gone, and creeping my way down to 200 lbs.
So all in all it was a good day!

Another two pounds - way to go, Charlie! btw, how often do you weigh yourself? Only at these official weigh-ins, or do you obsess?
Sandra (obsessive)
I don't obsess. I could - easily, but I don't. I don't want a number to be the goal. Once I do that, I set myself up for failure. On a daily basis we go up and down a pound or two. I have read on The Motley Fool the Fools Fighting Fat Board, and I see the guilt pouring out of those people as they talk about how they went up one pound. ONE POUND!
As a rule of thumb I weigh myself every couple of weeks. I really hate to call them official, but I suppose they are.
They key to my weight loss is not a number, but it is in feeling better and healthier. Of course I would like to be a weight area(which I don't talk about). And I am thrilled to be losing the weight. Afterall how can you not get excited about wearing size 40 jeans?
I just don't want the number in the end to be the goal. Once I do that, I'll start eating for sure.
