A Quicke
No...not what you would think. :-)
I will be running in the annual Proud to Run Race this Saturday. This is a big event during Pride Week in Chicago. I'm entered in the 5K. I thought about the 10K, but I need to work on that a bit more.
This will be a good tune up for the upcoming Gay Games. Our Pride Parade Grand Marshall - George Takei(of Star Trek fame) will be in attendance.
My running has gotten back to normal in the last week or so, so I will give myself a spin around the lakefront. Feeling good these days.
Hope my friends Sandra and Steven are doing well with their respective trainings.

So, now that you've conquered the 5K and 10K distances, are you upping your speed or just happy to be able to run what you're running?
Any particular goals for the 5K this weekend, beyond having a good time?
And if you get a chance, post a picture of George Takei. I had SUCH a crush on him....when I was 9.
Well....I haven't conquered the 10K...per se. :-)
My goal for the 5K this weekend is to inch towards a 38:00 time. I ran a 5K yesterday and got to 38:44. My first 5K race was run in 45:00, so I am cutting the time.
You? George Takei? Well, what do I know, I had a crush on Peter Tork of The Monkees.
As for my Gay Games goals...for the 10K I would like to run in the 1:12:00-1:13:00 range. 5K, I always want to lower that time.
