One Week Away
The Gay Games open one week from tomorrow. I can tell you Chicago is now excited about these games. The GLBT community is ready to welcome 12,000 athletes. I'm really looking forward to games.
It all starts next Saturday in Soldier Field. Andy Bell from Erarsure and Margaret Cho are just some of the people performing that night. Of course the main attraction will be when the athletes march into the stadium. I have my Team Chicago outfit, and am ready.
I am taking the week off from work, so I can attend as many of the events as possible.
Oh yes....I'll be runnning that week. July 17 is the 10K, and July 19 is the 5K. I feel ready. Yesterday I ran 6 miles. 6 EASY miles. There was no speed work, I can assure you. I just wanted to get the miles in. My goals are to do personal bests. In the 5K, since I went under 36 minutes at the Proud to Run, I am looking to lower that time. In the 10K I am hoping to run it in 1:10, but I will be happy if it is a little over.
During the games I will post every day about what is going on, and share news. If I can get pictures posted I will do it.
You can follow everything on the radio, for those who have Sirius Satelite radio. The games will be broadcast live. Of course there will be updates on the website.

So it looks the Road to Chicago is in the home stretch.

Gee, really? ;)
One guy at work....we'll call him DORK. Said, "gay Games are stupid. What's the point?" After I talked about them, he said, "Well if there are cute guys there I guess it's ok."
Grrrrr!
